My Story Video:

Now here is my overview of aromatherapy.

Essential oils are organic compounds that are made from various plant parts, such as roots, seeds, leaves, and blossoms. Now, I wouldn’t recommend only relying on aromatherapy but adding it to your day-to-day, along with whatever else helps you boost your mood. It helps me ease my stress and calms me down when I need it.

Depression can be a life stealer; my BPD has caused me to live in a very compromised state of being. It sometimes makes you feel like you’re not valuable, and many people do not understand it. It’s a brain health issue that has caused depression. The oils I will introduce to you on this site can help people with BPD. Now the healing can be available to you. You have to be proactive; owning it takes the shame off.

Now back to essential oils!

Not only can they help with depression and anxiety, but they also have many other benefits!

Essential oils are easy to use and also inexpensive. The win-win ordeal, there are also many ways you can do aromatherapy. You can soak in the bath with the scented oils and bath salts. I do it every second night myself to relieve stress and pain in my body. I notice my insomnia goes away if I inquire about this routine in my day-to-day life.

There are room sprays, and the best out of them, which is a constant thing in my home, is the diffuser, which gives me instant happiness when I can smell lavender, bergamot, and peppermint. These smells make the perfect combo for my home and mood stabilizer. I’m also starting to tap into the essential oils for massages and skin and hair products, which help with growth.

Not only does my aromatherapy routine alleviate my BPD, but it brings me into the present moment, which is a huge struggle for my scattered, worried mind. Although aromatherapy and essential oils have many benefits, they could cause an allergic reaction if inhaled. Ask your doctor, before trying aromatherapy, if you are sensitive to scents.

The essential oils I find helpful daily are Bergamot, which reduces pain and inflammation (great if you are like me and have IBS). It lowers cholesterol, and Bergamot essential oils can help with food poisoning. It can help fight bacteria for food-borne illnesses. Crazy right?

Lavender oil is known for its way of calming our nervous system. It gives instant relief from anxiety and mood swings. It’s known for its cure for infections and hair loss from stress; it also helps with pains and aches. Overall it helps you catch some zzz’s.

Rosemary oil helps treat respiratory problems, so I highly recommend it if you or someone you know suffers from asthma or other respiratory issues. It has the properties of enhancing memory loss. Did you know it also helps fight bad breath? You can put a few drops in your mouth, wash mouthwash, and swish it around; it’ll help you fight bacteria and plaque build-up.

Now, this has become a massive part of not only my life but my dogs. She is a German Shepard lab retriever who struggled which aggression when I first got her. Without her acting out, I couldn’t bring her around other dogs or humans.

Aromatherapy for dogs is when essential oils are used therapeutically to treat physical and behavioral issues. Aromatherapy involves carefully combining oils for specific healing processes. Tom, improve your dogs’ health and behavior! WOW right ?!

Now you’re probably wondering, ‘how exactly does it safely work on my dog’s health’? The use of essential oils and the practice of aromatherapy targets the limbic system, which is responsible for regulating moods. So, In addition to it helping your dog’s anxiety and aggression, it can also help with joint pains and Stinky dog breath. Those darn fleas or ticks they get from playing outside!

Oh, the separation anxiety my dog Bella-su suffered greatly from. I can now go more than a couple of hours without being at her hip; since dogs have a stronger olfactory sense than humans, inhaling oils transported quickly into their bloodstream. It’s a fast-acting therapy for dogs. Although it’s beneficial for dogs to use aromatherapy, too, still take precautions and observe the patterns and their reaction.

So, if you are a beginner in learning about essential oils for BPD and aromatherapy, the best answer is to start small. Focus on key ones, oils that offer the most versatility and are especially powerful for your sense of smell.

Regarding citrus, lemon EO is my favorite for boosting my overall mood and well-being. Being a professional cleaner, you can use this for cleaning, too; it is a natural disinfectant with antibacterial properties.

Now let’s go into the route and causes of my illness.

A borderline personality disorder is a mental health condition with extreme mood fluctuations. We have severe trouble regulating our emotions, especially anger. We are known for our recklessness and threatening harm. It’s in the ‘Cluster B’ personally disorders, which involve impulsiveness, we tend to be dysfunctional, which usually tend to social problems and issues with relationships.

I was diagnosed when I was 18 years old, but the signs were there around 12. Doctors misdiagnosed me before the age of 18. They told me I was bipolar and manic. These two diagnoses can be mistaken as they seem similar but are entirely different. BPD is relatively rare. Only 1.4% of the population have it. It’s not talked about nearly as much as other mental health.

So, I want to change that and help people in similar shoes.

Environments are a massive aspect of our behaviour.

There was a lack of stability in our younger years, traumas, and brain changes. In other words, prolonged stress as a youth causes this to happen sometimes. There isn’t a medication that helps cure BPD, but there’s medication you can take to relieve symptoms. Therapy and checking with yourself and your well-ness are vast.

There are certain oils I’ve noted in previous articles on this page about how it positively affects me. This is why I’m ensuring you know just how vital this therapy is for me when people like myself suffer from this mental health disorder. They may have trouble with jobs, relationships, stability, suicidal ideation, or becoming a victim of violence. Maybe you’ve been in similar relationships, either being abused or portraying abuse to the partner.

Some of us, because we tend to be impulsive, even get unfortunate and get a sexually transmitted disease. I’ve noticed myself completely detached from my life and dissociating. There are times when I can only rationalize in extremity. These days I have woken up with a million ideas and become numb to ideas quickly.

When I was asked about my opinion and outlook on essential oils topic, I became very willing to express how it’s tremendously made a difference in my life. I wanted to bring forth the drastic effects my disorder has given me but also to show you that with the help of specific therapies, you can be on the route to healing.

I wanted to talk about essential oils for BPD and bring it to the table to show you it’s okay, and there’s nothing to be ashamed about if you are struggling with it, too or any other disorder.

Taking initiative steps is the key to mindfulness. There has been so much distress in my life because of my impulsivity and eagerness to always be on the go that I never truly got to sit with myself or do therapies that work.

I’ve been living my life in fear. The first time I was introduced to aromatherapy was in rehab when I was 15. I would have panic attacks, and nobody knew why, so there weren’t a lot of techniques that worked for me.

My sleep patterns were out of whack, and I wasn’t always restless. So, a fantastic woman brought up essential oils, and she explained further how it helps her. She showed me the ways of safely using them. The first one she let me try was lavender.

She would put a few drops on my pillow every night, and in my Epson salt bath, and after a week, there was a considerable change in my behaviour.

I wasn’t nearly getting as many night terrors; I could get up without the fog in the morning of not sleeping. The baths soothed my body, and I have had IBS and a mild form of scoliosis for countless years now. When I noticed these changes, I could focus more on the group discussion and participate more with the other recovering addicts.

Now, what essential oils have brought you peace of mind and why?
